### The Uncharted Universe (3.) - Neutron Star 20 Euro - 22,42 Gram Silver - Proof - 3rd Issue of the Series "The Uncharted Universe" - Mintage 30,000 pieces - With Certificate of Authenticity - Delivery in original Box The series **"The Uncharted Universe"** of the **Austrian Mint** is dedicated to physical-astronomical phenomena shaped in a unique and extraordinary form. The third release features the **Neutron Star**. This fascinating phenomenon arises from supernova explosions, when a massive star collapses and the overwhelming gravity compresses the nucleus so strongly that protons and electrons are converted into neutrons and neutrinos. The neutron star can thus be understood as a gigantic atomic nucleus with a radius of 10 to 12 km. The motive of the **uniquely shaped coin** shows a neutron star in color. To represent it in a simplified plastic way, the coin was provided with a hemisphere that curves outward on one side and inward on the other. The surrounding area shows the magnetic field of the rotating neutron star as well as stylized stars. The upper edge of the coin features the inscription "NEUTRONENSTERN". The reverse shows the "crust" and the "core" of the neutron star as well as the inscription "KREBSPULSAR" - the name of a neutron star that was formed from a supernova in the year 1054. "1.4 MO" refers to its solar mass, while "30rps" refers to its rotational speed per second. Its radius is given as "r~10km". The denomination "20 **EURO**" and the inscription "REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH" are also part of the design. The **Euro silver coin** **Neutron Star** in proof quality is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity.
