### Reaching for the Sky - The era of motor flight (2.) 20 Euro - 22,42 gr. Silver - Proof - 2nd Issue of the "Reaching for the Sky" Series - Four coin Series - Mintage 30,000 pieces - Delivery in original Box with Certificate of Authenticity In the 20th century, the dream of flying came true: Igo Etrich's motor-driven "Dove" flew 140 km from Vienna to Horn and back again - that was a record. Etrich thus heralded the **era of motor flight**. Contrary to his fellow combatants, he did not take the birds as a model, but built his "dove" modeled on the seed Zanonia macrocarpa, a seed of a palm growing in Java. The outflowing air of the seed leaves kept the surface horizontal. After Etrich's success, the American Charles Lindbergh made a breakthrough in 1927 - he made the first non-stop solo flight from New York to Paris. In 1932, the next success followed and thus also the justification of the passenger air traffic: The Junkers 52 "Aunt Ju", developed by Hugo Junkers, took off and make the dream of flying true for everyone. As a tribute to Lindbergh's first non-stop solo flight, the New York - Paris route is linked by a line in the background of the coin design. In the front a biplane and Etrich's dove can be seen. The back of the coin adorns the image of the Junkers 52 in flight. The **"Reaching for the Sky"** **silver coin** is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity.
