The motive of the coin depicts the legendary Bell X-1, also known as **"Glamorous Glennis"**. In 1947, the rocket plane enabled the US pilot Chuck Yeager to achieve the first supersonic flight in history. In addition to the plane, the pilot can also be seen. The design also includes the denomination, the year of issue and the inscription "REPUBLIC OF **AUSTRIA**". The reverse of the coin features the **Concorde**, probably the most extraordinary passenger aircraft in the world. Since 1976 it has been racing across the Atlantic at twice the speed of sound.
