Captain Ross Smith, Lieutenant Keith Smith and Sergeants Wally Shiers and James Bennett completed the 17,910-kilometer flight in 28 days. The motive of the antique finish coin features depictions of the flight route over a mountainous landscape. In the foreground is a representation of the Vickers airplane. The design also includes the mintmark 'P' from the Perth Mint and the inscription 'CENTENARY OF FIRST FLIGHT' and 'ENGLAND TO AUSTRALIA'.
