The motive features the fifth design by the famous engraver John M. Mercanti. It depicts a magnificent **Wedge-tailed eagle** swooping on its prey in the midst of a hunt. In addition the inscription "Wedge-tailed Eagle", the year of issue, the fineness and the traditional Mintmark "P" of the **Perth Mint** are included in the design. The reverse shows the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the denomination. The Wedge-tailed eagle is one of the biggest eagles in the world. His impressive wings have a wingspan of up to 2.7 meters.
