### Echoes of Australian Fauna - Tasmanian Tiger (1.) 1 Oz Silver - Black Nickel - Gilded - Proof - 1st Issue of the 3-Coin Series Echoes of Australian Fauna - 99,9% Silver - Gilded - Eye-catching Coin Design - Mintage only 5,000 pieces - Numbered Certificate - In original Box with Certificate of Authenticity The Tasmanian Tiger is the first coin in this series, which is dedicated to an extinct animal. All silver coins of the Echoes of Australian Fauna series are nickel and selectively gold plated. Until 1930, Tasmania's magnificent wilderness was home to a shy, striped marsupial popularly known as the Tasmanian Tiger, or thylacine. 'Benjamin', the last known Tasmanian Tiger, died on 7 September 1936 at Hobart Zoo. This stunning silver coin pays tribute to the thylacine in its natural environment. The black nickel plate accentuates the mysterious and primordial nature of the landscape while the selectively gold plate, alternating with the black nickel, provides a beautiful contrast showcasing these unique and elusive creatures. The obverse of the coin features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions 'AUSTRALIA', '2019', 'ELIZABETH II', '5 DOLLARS'. The **selective gold and black nickel plated 1oz silver coin** is limited to only 5,000 pieces worldwide. It comes in a presentation case with a numbered certificate of authenticity. A stunning collector’s item that is certain to be treasured.
