The islands in the Pacific Ocean were the scene of some of the greatest battles of World War II between Japan and the USA. The "War in the Pacific National Historical Park" was established in 1978 to commemorate the bravery, courage and sacrifice of those involved in the fightings on the island of Guam. The former battlefields, gun emplacements, trenches and historical buildings serve as a reminder of the Pacific War. The five ounce silver coin shows US troops landing in Asan Bay. The edge of the coin is surrounded by the inscriptions "WAR IN THE PACIFIC", "GUAM", "2019", and "E PLURIBUS UNUM". The reverse features a portrait of George Washington and the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", "LIBERTY", "IN GOD WE TRUST", and "QUARTER DOLLAR". The coin is delivered in a protective capsule.
