The Golden Hind, originally called the Pelican, was Sir Francis Drake's flagship, with which he became the first Englishman to sail around the world between 1577 and 1580. His fleet consisted of five ships with 164 people on board. It was the second documented circumnavigation of the world after Ferdinand Magellan from Spain. The galleon Golden Hind was completely reconstructed from 1971 to 1973 and can be visited in a London museum in England.
