In 2021, the American Silver Eagle appeared for the first time since the launch of the coin in a new appearance. Created by AIP designer Emily Damstra, it features a majestic bald eagle that appears to be coming in for a landing, holding an oak branch in its talons. Framing the eagle are the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "ONE DOLLAR - 1OZ. FINE SILVER". The second gilded coin features the old Silver Eagle design, as well as the classic "Walking Liberty" motive on the reverse. The inscriptions "LIBERTY", "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "2021" are also included.
