Both coins were struck from one ounce of 99.99% pure silver in uncirculated quality. They were refined with **black ruthenium** and partially with **white color applications**. The **African Wildlife Series** is characterized by an annually changing motive and is very popular among collectors and investors worldwide. The motive of both coins shows the head of a full-grown elephant whose trunk seems to protrude from the coin. The African steppe is hinted in the background. At the edge of the coin are the inscriptions "AFRICAN WILDLIFE" and "ELEPHANT", "1 oz" and the fineness "Ag 999.9". The reverse features the Somalian state coat of arms, which depicts a shield with a star, which is supported by two leopards.
