### Tutankhamun - 100th Anniversary of Discovery 1 Oz Gold - Proof - in Color - 1 oz of 99.99% pure Gold - Limited Mintage only 250 pieces - With numbered Certificate of Authenticity - Delivery in original Box The remarkable issue from the **Perth Mint**[](https://www.emk.com/en-us/mints/perth-mint/) was struck from **1 ounce of 99.99% pure gold** and is dedicated to the **100th anniversary of the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb**. The motive features an image of the world-famous death mask of Tutankhamun. The **selective color application** provides the mask of the pharaoh with a particularly detailed and realistic look. The pictorial characters from the Book of the Dead, a collection of funeral sayings intended to help the pharaoh on his journey to the afterlife, as well as a nameplate with the hieroglyphics "Ruler of Heliopolis" are depicted in the background. The design also includes the inscription "TUTANKHAMUN 100 YEARS" and the mint mark 'P' of the Perth Mint. On the reverse, the Jody Clark effigy of Queen Elizabeth II is surrounded by the denomination and issuing state. Among the world's most famous excavations of Egypt is the final resting place of the ancient Egyptian king Tutankhamun, discovered by Howard Carter in 1922 in the Valley of the Kings. Tutankhamun reigned from 1333 B.C. until his death in 1323 B.C. at the age of only 19. The spectacular death mask is an example of ancient Egyptian craftsmanship and was made of pure gold, weighing about 10 kilograms. The golden death mask, as well as the most significant finds from the tomb, can be admired in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. The strictly limited **Tutankhamun 1 oz gold proof coin** is delivered in the original box including a numbered certificate of authenticity from the Perth Mint.
