### Aviation and History - Spitfire (7.) 50 Euro - 1/4 Oz Gold - Proof - 7th issue of the series "Aviation and History" - Strictly limited Mintage only 500 pieces - With Certificate of Authenticity - Delivery in original Box In collaboration with the famous comic author Romain Hugault, the Monnaie de Paris commemorates aircraft that have made history with the series "Aviation and History". This coin struck from a 1/4 ounce gold is dedicated to the **Spitfire** fighter - an iconic World War II aircraft developed in the 1930s. The Spitfire made its maiden flight on March 5, 1936 and made history as the aircraft that played a major role in the Allied victory over the German forces in the Battle of Britain. The motive of the **euro gold coin** shows two Spitfires during an operation to protect the English coast around Dover. The reverse shows two pilots, symbolizing military and civil activity, as well as outlines of various types of aircraft. The inscription "L'AVIATION & L'HISTOIRE" (engl.: "Aviation and History") is also included in the design. The strictly limited **commemorative coin** from **France** is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity.
