She covered the Spanish-American War for the Toronto Mail in 1898 and was known under the pseudonym **Kit Coleman**. The motive features a portrait of Kathleen Blake Coleman at her desk. A world map tracing her incredible journey can be seen in the background. Also included are the issuing state "CANADA" and the year of issue "2023". The reverse features the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II", "100 DOLLARS" and "D.G. REGINA". The commemorative coin is **minted from 99.99% pure gold** and is **limited to only 1,500 pieces worldwide**. Born on the 20th of February in 1865 in Castleblakeney, Ireland, Kathleen Blake Coleman is now one of Canada's "Persons of National Historic Significance". As a pioneer of Canadian journalism, Coleman made history by becoming North America's first accredited female correspondent. With her journalistic career, she paved the way not only for better female representation in newsrooms, but also for a more equal standing for Canadian women in other areas of life. In 1915, the journalist died of pneumonia in Hamilton, Canada. The gold proof coin is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity from the **Royal Canadian Mint**.
