### Australian Double Sovereign - 2020 15,98 gr. Gold - Proof - High Relief - Piedfort - Australian Double Sovereign of the Perth Mint - 3,8 mm thick coin - Limited Mintage only 350 pieces - With numbered Certificate of Authenticity - Delivery in original wooden Box The **Australian Sovereign gold coin** was struck by the Perth Mint from 91.67% gold in proof quality. The commemorative coin celebrates the **165th Anniversary of Australia's first Sovereign** in 2020 and pays tribute to the historic 1855 Sydney Mint Sovereign coin designed by Royal Mint Engraver Leonard Charles Wyon, which was the first coin to be produced at the Sydney Mint. The motive of the gold coin is a homage to Wyon’s historic reverse design and features the St. Edward’s crown, a laurel wreath as well as the inscriptions "PERTH MINT" and "SOVEREIGN". In honor of the 165th anniversary of the first Australian Sovereign, the coin has a '165' privy mark. The obverse depicts the Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the year of issue and the denomination. The Piedfort coin has a thickness of 3.8 mm. Piedfort means the double thickness of a regular coin of the same weight and metal. The strictly limited **Anniversary Sovereign gold proof coin** is delivered in the original wooden box including a numbered certificate of authenticity from the **Perth Mint**.
