The gold coin celebrates the **Year of the Snake in 2025** and is **limited to only 50 pieces worldwide**. The motive depicts a snake surrounded by bamboo, its body skillfully coiled around the bamboo stalks. The inscriptions “YEAR OF THE SNAKE”, the Chinese character for “snake” and the weight and fineness are also engraved. The reverse shows the lunar calendar wheel with all 12 animals as well as the Dan Thorne portrait of King Charles III, the denomination and the year of issue in the center. Following the dragon in 2024, the **snake** is the sixth animal in the Chinese zodiac calendar. The zodiac sign of the snake is said to have particularly strong intuition, wisdom, intelligence and good powers of observation.
