### Winged Victory - Goddess Nike End of World War II - 80th Anniversary 1 Oz Gold - Proof - 1 Ounce of 99.99% pure Gold - Limited Mintage only 200 pieces - With numbered Certificate of Authenticity - Delivery in original Box The **Perth Mint** has issued this gold proof coin to commemorate the **80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War** in 2025. On this occasion, the Greek goddess of victory **Nike** adorns the motive of this issue, which was struck from **one ounce of 99.99% pure gold**. The goddess is depicted winged and holds a sword in her right hand and a palm wreath in her left hand. A banderole with the inscription “80 YEARS END OF WW II 2025” and the Perth Mint's mintmark “P” are also included in the design. The reverse shows the Dan Thorne portrait of King Charles III as well as details of the weight, fineness and denomination. The goddess of victory, Nike, corresponds to the Roman goddess Victoria and is usually depicted with wings. The end of Australia's participation in the Second World War is celebrated annually on Victory in the Pacific Day (VP Day). This day is celebrated on August 15 and commemorates the fact that Japan accepted the Allies' demand for unconditional surrender on August 14, 1945, marking the end of the war for the Australians. The commemorative gold coin **80 Years End of World War II - Winged Victory** in proof quality is delivered in the original box including a numbered certificate of authenticity from the Perth Mint.
