### Wedge-Tailed Eagle 2019 150 $ - Bimetal - Gold/Platinum - Proof - 3/4 oz 99.99% pure Gold and 3/4 oz 99.95% pure Platinum - John M. Mercanti design ! - Strictly limited mintage only 150 pieces - Numbered Certificate of Authenticity by the Perth Mint - Delivery in original wooden Box This strictly limited **Wedge-tailed Eagle** coin was struck by the **Perth Mint** from a 3/4 oz of 99.99% pure gold and a 3/4 oz of 99.95% platinum. The bimetal coin is dedicated to one of Australia’s most incredible birds of prey, the wedge-tailed eagle. The motive of the coin shows a magnificent wedge-tailed eagle in flight with fully outstretched wings and stylized sunbeams in the background. The majestic birds of prey can glide through the air for hours, often reaching heights of up to 2,000 meters. In the heat of the day, they use hot thermal air currents that rise from the ground to reach those dizzying heights. Among the salient physical features is the eponymous, wedge-shaped tail. This wedge-tailed eagle design for the Australian Perth Mint was designed by the famous sculptor and engraver **John M. Mercanti**. On the reverse the coin shows the Jody Clark portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the denomination. The rare $150 coin comes in the original wooden box of the Perth Mint including a numbered certificate of authenticity.
