### Great Southern Land - Mother-of-Pearl Coin 2 Oz Gold - Proof - The coin features an authentic Australian Mother-of-Pearl design - 99.99% pure Gold - Limited Mintage of 200 pieces - With numbered Certificate of Authenticity - Delivered in wooden box The 2024 **Great Southern Land - Mother-of-Pearl coin** was struck by the **Perth Mint** from two ounces of 99.99% pure gold. The obverse of the coin features a mother-of-pearl insert that takes the shape of the Australian continent. This is framed by images of marine creatures that are typically found in Australian waters. Starting at the top right with a sea turtle, followed by a seahorse, a blue-ringed octopus, a clownfish, a starfish, a stingray and finally a great white shark. In addition to the sea creatures, there are also depictions of marine plants. Also engraved is the mintmark “P125”, which symbolizes the 125th anniversary of the Perth Mint in 2024. Details of the coin's weight, fineness and the year of minting, 2024, can also be seen in the design. The reverse shows the effigy of King Charles III and the inscriptions “AUSTRALIA” and “200 DOLLARS”. Mother-of-pearl is considered the national gemstone of Australia. According to the ancient traditions of the Aborigines, which date back to the time of dreams, it was created when a rainbow kissed the surface of the earth. Among the indigenous peoples it is also known as the “fire of the desert”. Currently, Australia is responsible for producing the vast majority of the world's mother-of-pearl. This material, after being carefully cut and polished, can be transformed into some of the world's most alluring jewelry. The **limited Great Southern Land - Mother-of-Pearl gold coin** is supplied in its original wooden box with a numbered certificate of authenticity from the **Perth Mint.**
