### Australian Kookaburra - 2026 1/4 oz Gold - Proof - **Sixth 1/4 oz Gold Proof Kookaburra** - 99.99% pure Gold - Limited Mintage only 500 pieces - With numbered Certificate of Authenticity - Delivery in original Box The **Australian Kookaburra** is one of the best-known classic silver coins and is now also issued as a **Kookaburra gold coin**. This 2026 issue is the overall **sixth 1/4 oz Kookaburra gold coin in proof quality**. Struck from 99.99% pure gold, the motive presents a detailed depiction of a kookaburra in flight. In the background, a natural landscape with a tree, rocks, grass structures and an indicated body of water can be seen. The kookaburra flies just above it, giving the motive a lively and dynamic appearance. The inscription "KOOKABURRA", the traditional "P" mintmark of The Perth Mint as well as the year of issue, weight and fineness complete the design. The reverse features the Dan Thorne effigy of King Charles III as well as the denomination. The kookaburra is the largest kingfisher in the world and the national bird of Australia. It belongs to the genus of so-called "tree kingfishers" and is also known in German as "laughing Hans". It owes this name to its loud call, which is comparable to human laughter and can most often be heard in the early morning and late evening. The mintage is limited to **only 500 pieces worldwide**. The **1/4 oz Kookaburra gold proof coin** is delivered in the original box including a numbered certificate of authenticity from **The Perth Mint**.
