### Icons of Inspiration (8.) - Johannes Gutenberg 1 Oz Gold - Uncirculated - 8th Issue from the Series "Icons of Inspiration" - Premium Bullion Coin - 99.99% pure Gold - **Limited Mintage only 100 pieces** - With Certificate of Authenticity - Delivery in original Box The eighth issue of the series **Icons of Inspiration** is dedicated to **Johannes Gutenberg**. The motive was designed by coin designer Joel Iskowitz and features an image of Johannes Gutenberg with a printing press. The revolutionary process of letterpress printing was invented in the 15th century by Johannes Gutenberg, a former goldsmith and coin maker. Using movable letters, books could be produced faster, cheaper and in larger quantities. The signature of the inventor is also included in the design. The reverse displays a triumphant image of a muse stretching her arm towards the sun. Also included in the design is the official coat of arms of Niue, as well as the denomination, year of issue, weight and fineness. Johannes Gutenberg was born in Mainz, in the Holy Roman Empire, around the year 1400. He was an important German inventor of the 15th century who is known for developing the printing press with movable letters. Gutenberg's groundbreaking invention revolutionized the printing industry and helped to produce books on a larger scale and at a lower cost. His most famous work is the Gutenberg Bible, which is considered to be the first mass-produced printed book and made a decisive contribution to the distribution of knowledge and information. The limited **Premium bullion coin in honor of Johannes Gutenberg** is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity.
