The design was inspired by a photograph taken in Africa in 2019 by Robert Irwin, son of the famous documentary filmmaker Steve Irwin. Above the elephant is the inscription "AUSTRALIA ZOO - AFRICAN ELEPHANT." The weight and fineness complete the design. The reverse features the Jody Clark portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
