### Australia Zoo (3.) - African Elephant 1 Oz Gold - Uncirculated - 3rd Issue from the Australia Zoo Series - Premium Bullion Coin - 99.99% pure Gold - Mintage only 250 pieces - With numbered Certificate of Authenticity - Delivery in original Box The third issue in the **Australia Zoo Series** from the **Royal Australian Mint** was struck from one ounce of 99.99% pure gold and is dedicated to the **African Elephant**. A distinction is made between two subspecies - the African forest elephant and the African savanna elephant. Both species are now listed as critically endangered. The motive depicts an elephant in the foreground and typical African vegetation in the background. The design was inspired by a photograph taken in Africa in 2019 by Robert Irwin, son of the famous documentary filmmaker Steve Irwin. Above the elephant is the inscription "AUSTRALIA ZOO - AFRICAN ELEPHANT." The weight and fineness complete the design. The reverse features the Jody Clark portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The denomination "100 DOLLARS" and the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II" and "AUSTRALIA 2022" are also included. The African savanna elephant is larger than the African forest elephant and the Asian elephant - making it the largest land creature on Earth. Unlike the African forest elephant, which lives in dwindling rainforests, the population of the savannah elephant is relatively stable. The limited **Australia Zoo - African Elephant Premium Gold Bullion Coin** is delivered in the original box including a numbered certificate of authenticity.
