The obverse features the second-type bust of [King William IV](file:///buy-coins/william-iv/), originally engraved by [William Wyon](file:///blog/william-wyon-royal-mint-great-engraver/) with 'GULIELMUS IIII D: G: BRITANNIAR: REX F: D:'. The reverse is the work of [Jean Baptiste Merlen](file:///blog/jean-baptiste-merlen/) and shows a crowned and garnished shield of royal arms. - Struck in 22-carat gold at the [Royal Mint](file:///buy-coins/the-royal-mint/) in London - part of a mintage of 1,714,349 - Incuse 'W.W.' inscription on the truncation of the portrait, 'ANNO 1836' to the reverse - Collectable early date William IV gold Sovereign in high grade S 3829B, Marsh 20 **Grade**: CGS 65 (#39254-SO.W4.1836.01)
