This Pre-Owned 2005 UK Nelson £5 Piedfort Proof Platinum Crown Coin was struck to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the death of Admiral Lord Nelson. The coin bears a portrait of Nelson in uniform, with the year dates 1805 and 2005 either side. The obverse side of the coin bears Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II with the year-date featured below. - Weighs 94.20g and is struck in 999.5 platinum. - Manufactured by The Royal Mint. - Struck to a proof finish. - VAT free and Capital Gains Tax exempt. - Diameter: 38.61mm. - Supplied in original presentation box with certificate of authenticity. Horatio Nelson was a legendary British Royal Navy Admiral who secured British Naval supremacy due to his unconventional tactics during the Napoleonic Wars, and his victory at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805 where he was fatally shot by a French sniper aboard his flagship, HMS Victory.
