Collectable Britannia Moneta copper trial die from [The Royal Mint](file:///buy-coins/the-royal-mint/), dated 1957 with an elegant engraving of a helmeted [Britannia](file:///blog/britannia-on-coins/). One side features the seated figure of Britannia, striking coins with a hammer. A small dolphin appears in the legend, which reads 'BRITANNIA MONETA'. The other side shows a six-pointed star with 1957 in the centre, the words 'ROYAL MINT' and 'TRIAL DIE' above and below. - Similar size and weight to a [Halfpenny](file:///buy-coins/halfpenny/) with plain edges - These trial dies XRF test as 96% copper, but similar pieces are found in stainless steel and aluminium - This is the most common Britannia Moneta type we have seen, but examples remain scarce
