2023 JRR Tolkien Two Pound Change Checker Royal Mint Experience Coin
A unique Struck On The Day edition of the ever-popular Tolkien £2 and one of the rarest presentations of this UK coin. In 2023 The Royal Mint Experience was taken over by Change Checker for a single day, and the 300 lucky visitors were treated to exclusive tours and opportunities. One activity was to strike this BU Tolkien £2 and have it presented in special Change Checker 10th anniversary packaging. To the reverse sits Tolkien's fantastical monogram alongside mythical patterning. David Lawrence's design is complimented by Martin Jennings' Charles III on the obverse side. This coin of special significance weighs 12.00 grams - a mix of nichelbrass and cupronickel - and has a 28.40 millimetre diameter. The pre-owned Struck on the Day is presented in the original 'Ten Years of Change Checker' commemorative card. Only 300 of this celebratory presentation were struck exclusively at The Royal Mint Experience on 23 September 2023.
