Description 31st January 2020 marks the day that the United Kingdom left the European Union following a referendum in 2016, this sovereign was struck to serve as a permanent record of the notable event. In 1817 as part of a reform of coinage, the modern sovereign was introduced, with Benedetto Pistrucci’s classic portrayal of St. George slaying the dragon. The initials ‘BP’ can be found on the base under the hoof of the horse. Additionally the Crowned portcullis privy mark, can be found to the left of the date. The obverse of the coin features Jody Clark’s portrait of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This coin is struck in Brilliant Uncirculated matte finish.
