Victoria Young Head St. George Sovereign
Description Victoria Young Head St. George Sovereign coins were produced between 1838 and 1887. The Young Head gold sovereign ran concurrently with two differing designs on the obverse. Both the coins have a portrait of the young Victoria, this coin features Benedetto Pistrucci’s design of St. George and the Dragon on the reverse. Victoria Young Head St. George Sovereign coins are minted in 22ct gold and have been so since the original “modern” design was issued in 1817. These coins benefit from being Capital Gains Tax (CGT) free. All UK gold and silver bullion coins manufactured by the Royal Mint are legal tender and are exempt from Capital Gains Tax.
