Two Ounce Silver Kraken
Description Two Ounce Silver Kraken, from the Royal Canadian Mint, are dated 2020. This was the first release in their ‘Creatures of the North’ series, the second and final design is the [Werewolf](https://www.atsbullion.com/product/two-ounce-silver-werewolf/), dated 2021. The reverse of the coin features the mythical Kraken, with a capsized ship in its tentacles. The Kraken is a legendary sea monster, said to have been seen in the Norwegian sea and dates back to Viking times. It is believed that the sightings may have originated from a giant squid and sailors superstitions. According to mythology the Kraken was so large it was capable of sinking ships, dragging sailors to their doom and haunted the minds of seafaring Vikings. The obverse of the coin features the portrait of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. These coins are preowned. All of our silver coins are verified for authenticity by our experienced team.
