Description Tenth ounce gold Britannia 22ct coins are preowned. The first Britannia was minted in 1987, with a face value of £10. Pre-2013 tenth ounce gold Britannia coins are 22ct and contains one tenth of troy ounce of gold. In 2013 the Royal Mint decided to produce the gold Britannia in 24ct, as opposed to 22ct.
