Spanish 25 Pesetas
Description When Spain joined other European nations in the Latin Currency Union, the Spanish Peseta was introduced and abandoned the real and escudos currencies. Spanish Pesetas were stopped being minted in 1904 when the currency was replaced. Spanish Peseta coins feature either Alfonso XIII (one of the youngest kings ever to be shown on a coin) or his son Alfonso XII. The Spanish 25 Peseta coins were minted between 1876 and 1881. The obverse of the coin features King Alfonso XII, with the inscription “POR LA G·DE DIOS” and the year of mintage. The reverse of the coin features the Crowned Mantle Coat of Arms, with the inscription “REY CONSTL. DE ESPAÑA” and denomination of 25 Pesetas. These coins are minted by the Royal Mint of Spain (Real Casa de la Moneda). These coins are preowned. All of our world coins are verified for authenticity by our experienced team.
