Slabbed Quarter Ounce Gold Queen’s Beast Lion 2017 (PF69 ULTRA CAMEO)
Description Slabbed Quarter Ounce Gold Queen’s Beast Lion (PF69 ULTRA CAMEO) dated 2017. There was a grading system from the 1940s that ascribed a number between 1 and 70 to each coin (70 being mint condition). Dr William Sheldon’s scale worked on the basis that a coin graded at 70 would be valued at 70 times more than the value of a coin graded at 1. This scale forms the basis of the grading system today. **PF** denotes Proof coins. **ULTRA CAMEO** means that the fields are deeply mirrored and the devices are heavily frosted for bold contrast on both sides of the coin. This slabbed Lion coin forms one of 10 designs in the Royal Mints: Queen’s Beast proof range. This range is in recognition of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, when she surpassed Queen Victoria as the longest reigning Monarch. These will feature the ten heraldic beasts that stood guard at Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation. This particular Queen’s Beast is the regal Lion of England – the roaring Lion familiar with English heraldry. These coins benefit from being Capital Gains Tax (CGT) Free and VAT free.
