Slabbed Quarter Ounce Gold Proof – Pay Attention 007, 2020 (PF69 ULTRA CAMEO)
Description Slabbed Quarter Ounce Gold Proof Pay Attention 007 (PF69 ULTRA CAMEO) dated 2020. There was a grading system from the 1940s that ascribed a number between 1 and 70 to each coin (70 being mint condition). Dr William Sheldon’s scale worked on the basis that a coin graded at 70 would be valued at 70 times more than the value of a coin graded at 1. This scale forms the basis of the grading system today. The coins are slabbed to maintain the condition in a protective case. **PF** denotes Proof coins. **ULTRA CAMEO** means that the fields are deeply mirrored and the devices are heavily frosted for bold contrast on both sides of the coin. This slabbed quarter ounce coin was the second release of three coins from the James Bond series made by the Royal Mint, if you collect all three coins they will reveal a hidden title. The design by Matt Dent and Christian Davies, shows the famous “Wet Nellie” – which is the submarine form of James Bond’s Lotus Esprit. It also features the immortal words of Q, “Pay attention 007”. The obverse of the coin features a portrait of Her Late Majesty the Queen by Jody Clark. These coins benefit from being Capital Gains Tax (CGT) Free and VAT free.
