Description This gold Royal Portrait Collection, released in 2003 by the Royal Mint, marks the 50th anniversary of the Coronation of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The set consists of 4 full sovereigns and 3 half sovereign coins. Each of the four portraits, represents a period during her reign. Elizabeth II acceded to the throne in 1952 and was crowned on 2 June 1953, bringing the world together in celebration. Her Majesty was committed to serving the British people and the commonwealth and was the longest-reigning monarch.
