Description This gold Royal Portrait Collection, released in 2003 by the Royal Mint, marks the 50th anniversary of the Coronation of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The set consists of 4 full sovereigns and 3 half sovereign coins. Each of the four portraits, represents a period during her reign. Elizabeth II acceded to the throne in 1952 and was crowned on 2 June 1953, bringing the world together in celebration. Her Majesty was committed to serving the British people and the commonwealth and was the longest-reigning monarch. The set consists of the following: - 1958 bullion sovereign, Mary Gillick portrait - 1980 proof sovereign and 1984 proof half sovereign, Arnold Machin portrait - 1987 proof sovereign and 1988 proof half sovereign, Raphael Maklouf portrait - 2003 proof sovereign and 2003 proof half sovereign, Ian Rank-Broadley portrait Each coin comes in a plastic capsule, along with original Royal Mint box, certificate of authenticity and informative booklet. These coins benefit from being Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and VAT free. All UK gold and silver bullion coins manufactured by the Royal Mint are legal tender and are exempt from Capital Gains Tax.
