Description Quarter Sovereign coins are from a mixture of dates and monarchs issued by the Royal Mint. These coins are preowned and the photo is an example only, please contact us to find out what years and monarchs we have available before making a purchase. Quarter Sovereign coins are minted in 22ct and have a weight of 1.99g (0.059 Troy Oz pure). They were re-introduced in 2009 and are one of the smallest modern legal tender coins. They have a face value of 25 new pence (five shillings). These coins benefit from being Capital Gains Tax (CGT) free. All UK gold and silver bullion coins manufactured by the Royal Mint are legal tender and are exempt from Capital Gains Tax.
