Description Quarter Ounce Gold Lunar Britannia are preowned coins minted in 24ct. In 2014 The Royal Mint released their first Chinese Quarter Ounce Lunar coins. This series is a sequence of annual designs of 12 coins. This was designed by British Chinese Artist Wuon-Gean Ho. The quarter ounce gold lunar Britannia was also made as a 1oz coin. The Royal Mint 1/4oz Lunar series were minted as bullion coins until 2020 when they reverted to only proof editions. The bullion designs minted started with the Year of the Horse and the last release was the Rat in 2020. These coins benefit from being Capital Gains Tax (CGT) Free and VAT free. All UK gold and silver bullion coins manufactured by the Royal Mint are legal tender and are exempt from Capital Gains Tax.
