1907 Melbourne Half Sovereign PCGS MS63
Like most Edward VII half sovereigns, this 1907M half sovereign is a difficult coin to obtain in this grade. The line near the “T” of “BRITT” is a die crack, and typical of the issue. Numismatist Howard Hodgson has done extensive research into the nature of these die cracks, which you can read about in the March 2022 issue of the Coin and Banknote Magazine. Second-finest graded by PCGS (5/22). Professional Coin Grading Service is the global leader in coin authentication and grading. With over 60 million coins graded and counting, PCGS is trusted by collectors, dealers, and investors to certify authenticity, protect value, and elevate market confidence. This is a direct conversion of the 70-point PCGS grade to a 10-point scale, intended to present the grade in a more intuitive format for newer collectors. It is not our personal opinion or an attempt at regrading the coin to a different standard.
