Quarter Ounce Gold Britannia (1987-2012)
Description Quarter ounce gold Britannia 22ct (1987-2012) are preowned coins made by the Royal Mint. The Britannia was first minted in 1987, with a face value of £25. Pre-2013 Britannias are 22ct and contain a quarter ounce of gold. In 2013 the Royal Mint decided to produce the quarter ounce gold Britannia in 24ct as opposed to 22ct, the actual gold content of pre-2013 gold Britannias remains the same however. These coins are preowned, please contact us to find out what years we have available. These coins benefit from being Capital Gains Tax (CGT) Free and VAT free. All UK gold and silver bullion coins manufactured by the Royal Mint are legal tender and are exempt from Capital Gains Tax.
