Proof Silver Two Coin Set – Platinum Jubilee Celebration
Description This proof silver two coin set, dated 1952-2022, celebrates the Platinum Jubilee of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. With two unique designs, one coin is designed by the Royal Mint and the other by the Royal Canadian Mint, for a unique, joint celebration. Her Late Majesty was committed to serving the British people and the commonwealth. She had a long list of varied patronages, having grown up in a family dedicated to service, she started as a child. Elizabeth II acceded to the throne in 1952 and reigned for 70 years, making her the longest-reigning monarch. The Queen has aged gradually on her coins, there have been four definitive coinage portraits since Mary Gillick’s first portrait. Created especially for the occasion, the obverse of the Royal Mint coin incorporates the 1953 coronation crown and 2002 golden jubilee crown, which both feature Her Late Majesty on horseback. The reverse of the coin features John Bergdahl’s royal mantle design, inspired by regal emblems and the coinage of William IV. The obverse of the Royal Canadian Mint coin features a portrait of Elizabeth II from 1952, the year of her accession to the throne. Each coin is struck in fine silver to Proof standard and presented in bilingual packaging in English and French. Both coins come in a plastic capsule, along with original box, certificate of authenticity and informative booklet. These coins benefit from being Capital Gains Tax (CGT) Free.
