Description This proof silver £5 coin, dated 2023, marks the beginning of a new monarch and celebrates the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III. Charles is the first British monarch to accede to the throne in the 21st century. Throughout his life he has supported many causes and has been a patron or president of many charitable organisations. The symbolic parts of a British coronation have remained the same for centuries and the coronations of British Kings and Queens have taken place at Westminster Abbey. The *Coronation Regalia* is used during the ceremony and is compromised of the most sacred objects in the Crown Jewels collection. Amongst them are the Sovereign’s Sceptre, Sovereign’s Orb and St Edward’s Crown, which is only used at the moment the monarch is crowned. The reverse of the coin features the crown and sceptres, representing the *Coronation Regalia.* The obverse of the coin features the crowned portrait of His Majesty King Charles III. The coin comes in a plastic capsule, along with original Royal Mint boxes, informative booklet and certificate of authenticity. These coins benefit from being Capital Gains Tax (CGT) Free. All UK gold and silver bullion coins manufactured by the Royal Mint are legal tender and are exempt from Capital Gains Tax. All of our proof silver coins and sets are verified for authenticity by our experienced team. Any coins that fall short of our quality standards are not re-sold.
