Description This Proof Gold Four Coin Sovereign Set, dated 2002, is made up of a Quintuple sovereign (£5), Double sovereign (£2), full sovereign and half sovereign. The coins in this set feature a shield design to mark the special celebration of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee. This was only the second time that the design was not the iconic St. George and Dragon. The first time being 1989, which was the 500th anniversary of the first gold sovereign issued. The reverse of the coin features Timothy Noad’s crowned shield of the Royal Arms enclosed within a wreath of laurel. This design has previously featured on the Young Head Victoria Sovereigns. The obverse of the coins in this 2002 four coin collection, feature Ian Rank-Broadley’s portrait of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Each coin is struck in 22carat gold to the finest proof quality. Each coin comes in a plastic capsule, along with original Royal Mint box and certificate of aunthencity.
