King Charles III Double Sovereign 2025
Description King Charles III Double Sovereign 2025, also known as a £2, was produced by the Royal Mint; this coin features the portrait of His Majesty King Charles III and the reverse features Benedetto Pistrucci’s design of St. George and the Dragon. The double sovereign was re-released as a bullion coin in 2020 and has been issued every year since. Double Sovereign 2025 coins are minted in 22ct gold as have all sovereigns been since the original “modern” design was issued in 1817. The 2025 will be the last year produced in it’s ‘red’ finish. These coins benefit from being Capital Gains Tax (CGT) free. All UK gold and silver bullion coins manufactured by the Royal Mint are legal tender and are exempt from Capital Gains Tax.
