This Pre-Owned 2026 UK Full Sovereign Proof Silver Coin marks only the second time that a proof silver edition of the Sovereign was struck by The Royal Mint. This proof coin was limited to a mintage of only 20,000. The coin features Benedetto Pistrucci's iconic depiction of St George and the Dragon, with the year date below. The obverse side of the coin bears Martin Jennings' portrait of King Charles III. - Weighs 7.99g and is struck in 999.0 fine silver. - Manufactured by The Royal Mint. - Struck to a [proof](https://atkinsonsbullion.com/help-advice/glossary) finish. - VAT free and [Capital Gains Tax](https://atkinsonsbullion.com/help-advice/capital-gains-tax-your-questions-answered) exempt. - Diameter: 22.05mm. - Supplied in original presentation box with certificate of authenticity. - Limited mintage of 20,000. The gold sovereign is one of Britain's most famous coins, and the first of which was minted in 1489 at the behest of King Henry VII. The modern Sovereign featuring Benedetto Pistrucci's 'St George and the Dragon' reverse design was first struck in 1817. This is only the second time a proof silver edition of the sovereign was struck by The Royal Mint, and features the same St George design as its gold counterpart. This coin is sold under the second-hand margin scheme so there is no VAT for the client to pay.
