This Pre-Owned 2019 UK Royal Mint 50p Proof Design Gold Coin was struck to mark thirty years since the release of 'A Grand Day Out', featuring the characters Wallace and Gromit, and was limited to a mintage of only 630. The reverse of the coin features a design by Nick Park, the creator of Wallace and Gromit, featuring the characters together, along with the Latin inscription ‘CASEUS PRAESTANS' (cracking cheese). The obverse of the coin bears the fifth portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, by designer Jody Clark. - Weighs 15.50g and is struck in 916.7 (22ct) gold. - Manufactured by The Royal Mint. - Struck to a proof design finish. - VAT free and Capital Gains Tax exempt. - Diameter: 27.30mm. - Supplied loose without box or certificate. The first adventure featuring the characters of Wallace and Gromit, 'A Grand Day Out', was first shown on 4th November 1989, propelling the distinctively British characters and their creator Nick Park to stardom.
