The 2026 The British Lion 1oz silver coin from The Royal Mint is the second release in the series celebrating one of the most enduring symbols in British heraldry. The reverse design by David Lawrence depicts the Lion standing guard with shield, representing strength and authority. Behind the design sits a subtle Union Flag surface animation, adding an additional layer of security and visual detail. The obverse features the official portrait of King Charles III by Martin Jennings. Each 2026 1oz The British Lion silver coin contains 31.1g of 999 fine silver and carries a face value of £2, making it exempt from Capital Gains Tax for UK residents. The 1oz edition is limited to a mintage of 50,000 coins.
