**Fifth Portrait:**. Start Year: 2016. End Year: 2022. Sculptor: Jody Clark (Royal Mint engraver). Our best value gold Sovereign coins, featuring the current 5th portrait of Her Majesty. Perfect for investors who do not mind which year of coin they will receive. This is the newest and current portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Designed by the Royal Mint's own Jody Clark, the portrait of the Queen sees her wearing Diamond Jubilee drop pearl earrings and the King George IV State Diadem again, like the third portrait coins. This headpiece is the one worn for the annual State Opening of Parliament. At the time of this portrait the Queen was 88 years old. The front side of the coin features St George, riding a horse and trampling a dragon or commemorative designs. On the reverse is the Queen's head and the accompanying Latin. DEI GRA REGINA or Dei Gratia Regina means 'By the Grace of God, Queen' and FID DEF is 'Fidei defensor' and means 'Defender of the Faith', alluding to her position as Supreme Governor of the Church of England.
