1902 Sydney Sovereign PCGS MS64
Whilst Edward VII sovereigns are considered mostly common, there are “grade rarities” peppered throughout the series. The present coin, one such grade rarity from 1902, is one of the nicest Edward sovereigns we’ve handled in recent years. The fields are mostly devoid of marks and scratches, while there is fresh lustre on both sides; the coin shines in the hand. Equal-second finest certified by PCGS, with just two other coins available in this grade worldwide (1/25). From an old British collection, and then a Western Australian collection. Professional Coin Grading Service is the global leader in coin authentication and grading. With over 60 million coins graded and counting, PCGS is trusted by collectors, dealers, and investors to certify authenticity, protect value, and elevate market confidence. This is a direct conversion of the 70-point PCGS grade to a 10-point scale, intended to present the grade in a more intuitive format for newer collectors. It is not our personal opinion or an attempt at regrading the coin to a different standard.
