The Pre-Owned 1996 UK Half Sovereign Gold Coin features Benedetto Pistrucci's design depicting St George and the Dragon on the reverse, with the year of the coin below. The obverse of the coin bears a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. - Weighs 3.99g and is struck in 916.7 (22ct) gold. - Fine Content: 3.66g. - Manufactured by The Royal Mint, UK. - Struck to a proof design finish. - VAT free and Capital Gains Tax exempt. - Diameter: 19.30 mm. Thickness: 1.00mm. - Supplied loose without box or certificate. The first sovereign gold coins were minted in the UK in 1544, during the reign of Henry VIII.
