Two Dollar struck on Euro ten cent planchet PCGS AU55
A popular error coin that is known by about half a dozen examples. Struck on non-allergenic and antimicrobial Nordic Gold, and weighting 4.1g, the composition of the coin is identical to a Euro ten cent piece. How a blank Euro ten cent planchet ended up in Canberra is unknown, but as a number of these pieces have been discovered in recent years, it does appear to be a genuine accident. However this error coin was born, they have been keenly sought by two dollar coin and error collectors since their discovery in 2012. This example, graded AU55 by PCGS, is the first we've handled. Professional Coin Grading Service is the global leader in coin authentication and grading. With over 60 million coins graded and counting, PCGS is trusted by collectors, dealers, and investors to certify authenticity, protect value, and elevate market confidence. This is a direct conversion of the 70-point PCGS grade to a 10-point scale, intended to present the grade in a more intuitive format for newer collectors. It is not our personal opinion or an attempt at regrading the coin to a different standard.
