### **$10 Gold Eagle Indian Head - Ex Jewelry (Random Year)** **PLEASE NOTE COIN MAY EXHIBIT NICKS, SCRATCHES AND OTHER ABRASIONS.** The **$10 Gold Eagle Indian Head** was a revolutionary and a radical design for that time. It is an amalgamation of femininity and masculinity which culminated into a beautiful yet unconventional design on the obverse featuring Lady Liberty wearing a War Bonnet. This is the result of President Theodore Roosevelt wanting to beautify the American coins. The rare and beautiful design for this coin was created by the famous Sculptor August Saint-Gaudens with several suggestions by the President. These coins were minted irregularly from 1907-1933 by the US Mint. These **$10 Gold** **Eagle Indian Heads** were the final series of $10 gold coins struck for commerce. **Coin Features:** - Contains .4838 troy oz., purity of 90% gold. - Eligible for Precious Metal IRA. - Ex Jewelry Condition. - **Obverse:** A beautiful leftward facing portrait of Lady Liberty wearing a war bonnet with her curls flowing out of it. President Theodore Roosevelt is known for his dynamic qualities and never feared new ideas or changes. In order to elevate the artistic value of the United States coins, which had not seen much change for the past 60 years, and the designs that he personally felt were hideous, he had commissioned a famous sculptor of that time Augustus Saint-Gaudens. It was Gaudens’ responsibility to provide beautiful designs with a modern touch that would signify America’s freedom of thought. Gaudens was assigned to create fresh new designs for 5 coins altogether; the Double Eagle ($20), Eagle ($10), Half Eagle ($5), Quarter Eagle ($2.5), and the cent. In 1933 as per the order of President Franklin Roosevelt, the gold coin production was stopped by the mint, thereby putting an end to the Indian Head Gold Eagle and other denominations. Most of these coins were melted as per the government order. All that is now remaining is ones that were hidden from the government or those that were sent to Europe before 1933. Hence, these coins have a lot of historical significance and due to their scarcity they have high demand.
