Lovingly crafted with great attention to detail, these figures – ranging from animals and mythical creatures to traditional motifs – are paraded through the streets before being gently floated across the lake. As well as honouring the narcissus, the festival celebrates togetherness and the rich traditions of the region. **Coin motif** The *Narcissus* coin’s reverse features four narcissi in bloom, representing the three species of the flower that are native to Austria. Depicted on the left is the star shaped narcissus (narcissus radiiflorus), while the white daffodil, also known as the poet's narcissus (*narcissus poeticus*), is depicted in the centre and the wild daffodil, also known as the Lent lily (*narcissus pseudonarcissus*), is on the right.
